D. Sean McEwen (Chairman/CEO - KonaTel)
Mr. McEwen founded KonaTel in 2014 as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) to provide business wireless voice and data services. Immediately prior to creating KonaTel, from 2010 to 2013, he served as an executive management consultant to international telecommunications companies in the U.S., Peru, Croatia, Serbia, and China. From 2010 to 2011, McEwen also served as a founding board member of One Fund (NYSE: ONEF) an exchange traded fund.
In early 1983, Mr. McEwen co-founded Online Data Corp. By way of acquisitions and a name change, the company eventually became TriTech Software Systems. In its initial years from 1983 to 1990, TriTech developed a variety of custom enterprise software solutions for E. F. Hutton Life Insurance, Travel Lodge Hotels, Foodmaker (Jack in the Box restaurants), AT&T, and Visa’s Plus Systems national ATM network.
In 1990, TriTech shifted to providing mission critical enterprise software solutions and systems integration services for local and national public safety organizations (i.e., Police, Fire, and EMS). TriTech’s flagship product, VisiCAD, was the nation’s first 9-1-1 emergency dispatching system based solely on Microsoft technology, utilizing integrated GPS based tracking and predictive routing technology. In 1995, TriTech won Microsoft’s Most Innovative Windows Application award, and in 1998, TriTech was named to the Inc. 500 as the 344th fastest growing privately held company in the United States.
Mr. McEwen served as Vice President of TriTech from 1983 to 1988, President from 1988 to 1996, and Chairman/CEO from 1996 to 2000. In addition, Mr. McEwen served as a member of the board of directors until successfully exiting the company in 2006 when controlling interest was sold to Westview Capital Partners.
Robert Beaty (Director - KonaTel)
Mr. Beaty was the co-founder and founding CEO of Impact Telecom, a national leader in the telecommunications market delivering flexible and effective solutions to telecommunications carriers, businesses, and consumers. As CEO of Impact, Mr. Beaty completed multiple acquisitions and successfully guided the company to over $200 million in annual revenue.
Mr. Beaty brings over 23 years of executive telecommunications experience to the KonaTel board, having managed a large portfolio of wholesale and commercial customers. Prior to creating Impact Telecom in 2005, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales for ICG Communications. While at ICG, he helped guide the company through reorganization and served as a valued member of the senior executive team tasked with growing and managing the company.
Earlier in his career, while at AT&T Broadband, Mr. Beaty specialized in emerging technology deployment including telephony over cable and was responsible for business planning and operational coordination with numerous local and long-distance carriers. During his tenure with AT&T, he gained valuable operational experience while successfully negotiating and managing multiple corporate initiatives for various divisions on an aggressive implementation schedule.
Mr. Beaty earned an MBA in Business Administration from Webster University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas.
Jeffery Pearl (Director - KonaTel)
Mr. Pearl brings more than 30 years of telecommunications service provider experience. He has experience in both startup environments as well as working inside some of the nation’s largest private and public telecommunications companies. His primary proficiency includes the creation of go-to-market strategies, focusing both on direct sales and alternative distribution channels.
Mr. Pearl currently serves as CEO of OTG Consulting, founded in 2016 as a telecommunications and cloud service sales agency. OTG works with numerous telecommunications carriers and service providers to deliver solutions for voice and data communications, Internet, hosting, managed services, and other cloud offerings.
Prior to creating OTG Consulting, Mr. Pearl worked at BroadSoft (a Cisco company) from 2013 to 2016, where he successfully managed the company’s North American Carrier Sales group. In this role, he cultivated strong relationships with C-Level executives across major U.S. telecommunications carriers and service providers utilizing the BroadSoft platform. Under his direction, this group also expanded many new relationships with startups and providers not utilizing BroadSoft.
After successfully managing BroadSoft’s North American carrier sales group, Mr. Pearl was promoted to create a new division (Channel Acceleration) targeting business development efforts with the world’s largest telecommunications carriers. In this role, his teams engaged with top telecommunications executives inside and outside the U.S. while creating various go-to-market strategies, sales training, and sales assistance programs across all hosted VoIP & SIP trunking services. Prior to joining BroadSoft, Mr. Pearl successfully created, operated, and sold two VoIP software-based telecommunications companies.
